The IT User Support Technician position at Indiana University is a full-time role within the University Information Technology Services (UITS) department. In this role, the IT User Support Technician will provide mid-level technical support to faculty, staff, and students. The technician will be responsible for resolving mid and low-level technical problems, and when necessary, referring more complex issues to appropriate supervisors or senior-level support staff. The technician will interpret problems and provide technical support for hardware, software, and systems, following established protocols to deliver technology solutions that support the university community. Additionally, the technician will share resources and training materials to assist users, identify recurring difficulties, and report on trends while updating documentation as needed. The technician is expected to stay current with all services offered and/or supported by the university, document and track calls received, and follow up with clients until satisfactory resolutions are achieved. This position requires effective communication skills and the ability to operate computers and related technical equipment. The technician will also need to frequently move objects weighing up to 50 pounds, ensuring that they can perform essential functions with or without accommodation. This is an in-person position located in Bloomington, Indiana.
