About the position

The IT Vendor Management Analyst at Amica Mutual Insurance Company is responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining the IT Vendor Management program. This role involves optimizing vendor management strategies, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and fostering strong relationships with vendors. The analyst will report on vendor performance, facilitate collaboration across teams, and contribute to the development of vendor management policies and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to reporting on IT vendor contracts, performance, risk, and relationships to key internal stakeholders and vendors.
  • Possess knowledge of and experience with the purchasing of IT hardware, software, and services.
  • Proven record with negotiations, identifying savings opportunities and savings planning and realization.
  • Facilitate collaboration with team members as well as across teams, sections, and departments to complete work in a timely manner.
  • Foster strong strategic vendor partnership relationships, focused on ensuring strong vendor delivery adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Provide IT Vendor Management subject matter expertise for contractual issues, terms, and industry best practices.
  • Facilitate the maintenance of agreements with vendors and ensure that they are current/up to date and compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Ensure timely renewal and negotiation of existing agreements with cost optimization, cost avoidance, savings, or equal contract value.
  • Perform financial spend and qualitative analysis of the vendor portfolio.
  • Effectively communicate and build productive relationships with a variety of stakeholders including internal IT team members, cyber security, procurement, senior management, business units and externally with vendors.
  • Identify and mitigate potential roadblocks or conflicts, both internally and externally.
  • Assist various teams- procurement and business units to optimize the cost-effectiveness of negotiations and ensure compliance of negotiated agreements.
  • Contribute to the development of vendor management policies, risk registers, processes, and workflows.
  • Share knowledge to ensure individuals and teams have the appropriate breadth and depth to offer support to the business, projects, and day-to-day operations.
  • Actively seek out opportunities to gain experience and apply emerging trends such as best practices and standards.
  • Foster a culture that values learning and creativity both individually and as a team.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities to automate development, provisioning, and release work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years' experience supporting vendor management, contracts, and procurement, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong technical foundation with demonstrated business, data, and financial analysis skills.
  • Ability to create and communicate negotiation strategies, identifying challenges, and remediation techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing and negotiating complex technology contracts.
  • Strong working knowledge of procurement practices.
  • Experience interfacing effectively with diverse and senior stakeholder groups.

  • Experience in the property and casualty industry.
