About the position

The IT Winter Intern - Software Developer position at Costco is a 12-week paid internship designed for students currently enrolled in an IT undergraduate or graduate program. Interns will work within the Information Systems Division, focusing on enhancing the Costco Mobile app to improve member experiences. The role involves collaboration with stakeholders and developers, learning about modern programming languages and frameworks, and gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic environment. Interns will also have opportunities to attend presentations from executive management and may undergo the interview process for a potential full-time position upon completion of the internship.

Requirements

• General PC navigation skills, including Word, Excel, and Google applications with an aptitude for typing.
• Troubleshooting skills and the ability to logically think through problem situations.
• Self-motivated, responsible, conscientious, detail-oriented.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good organizational, time, and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and stay well organized.
• Must be maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Must be students currently enrolled in an IT undergraduate or graduate program at a community college, college or university.

Nice-to-haves

• Web Development or other software development program certification or currently working towards a degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Proficiency in operation of personal computers and associated operating systems and software.
• Knowledge of iOS and/or Android and general software development, design principles.
• Development experience using Swift and/or Kotlin is desired.
• Exposure/experience with the technologies: Microsoft Azure tech stack/environment, SQL Server, Cosmos DB, Agile methodology, DevOps, Test Driven Development, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Costco warehouse, Ecommerce or retail experience is a plus.
