About the position

The Agile Product Owner (APO) for the Science Cloud Infrastructure Team at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center is responsible for driving the delivery of high-value cloud infrastructure solutions that align with stakeholder needs and the organization's strategic goals. This role involves collaborating closely with various stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and management of Science Cloud Infrastructure services, owning the product backlog, and facilitating communication between teams and customers.

Responsibilities

• Define and prioritize the product backlog for the Science Cloud Infrastructure team based on stakeholder requirements.
• Ensure that backlog items are clearly defined, well-structured, and contain appropriate acceptance criteria.
• Continuously refine and adjust priorities in line with changing customer needs, compliance requirements, and technical constraints.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders including customers, cloud engineers, platform architects, DevOps teams, and leadership to understand requirements and dependencies.
• Act as the primary point of contact for the cloud infrastructure team, facilitating communication between the team and customers.
• Ensure alignment between product vision, customer needs, and engineering priorities.
• Facilitate discussions and workshops to gather feedback and align stakeholders.
• Develop and communicate a clear product roadmap and release plans for cloud infrastructure services.
• Promote Agile principles within the team and encourage continuous improvement through retrospectives and feedback loops.
• Facilitate and participate in PI Planning, system demos, and other agile ceremonies.

Requirements

• At least 5 years' experience using agile frameworks.
• At least 3 years' experience in the Product Owner role.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to pass background checks for elevated privileges in federal government IT environments.

Nice-to-haves

• Certifications in agile frameworks (e.g. SAFE, PSPO, CSPO).
• Science-domain knowledge/experience.
