About the position

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is seeking an ITAD Account Manager for Asset Upcycling Services, primarily focused on the Central and Western regions of the United States. This role is designated as a remote position, allowing the successful candidate to work from home while managing key accounts. The ITAD Account Manager will be responsible for engaging with some of HPE's largest named accounts, understanding their IT landscape, challenges, and requirements to develop tailored solutions around asset lifecycle management. The goal is to drive value for clients while maximizing revenue and margin for HPE. In this direct field sales role, the ITAD Account Manager will specialize in Asset Upcycling Services and collaborate closely with the financing sales team to pursue various customer opportunities. The ideal candidate will be located near a major airport to facilitate travel as needed. The responsibilities include seeking out new opportunities, expanding existing customer relationships, and managing a pipeline of clients in the IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) sector. The role requires maintaining a competitive knowledge base to strategically position HPE's products and services effectively. The ITAD Account Manager will also be involved in proposal development, negotiations, and deal closures, working closely with account executives to provide technical expertise and support. This position demands building strong relationships with senior executives at client firms and industry leaders, ensuring a seamless transition of opportunities through collaboration with engagement managers. The successful candidate will need to develop a deep understanding of the ITAD market and HPE's competitors to effectively manage sales efforts and meet or exceed assigned targets.

Responsibilities

  • Seek out new opportunities and expand on existing opportunities to build and manage the pipeline and base of customers in the area of IT Asset Disposition (ITAD/ARS).
  • Maintain knowledge of competitors in account to strategically position HPE's and HPEFS' products and services.
  • Develop pursuit plans and manage the pipeline to ensure alignment with global account executives.
  • Establish a professional working and consultative relationship with the client, understanding their unique business needs.
  • Contribute to proposal development, negotiations, and deal closings.
  • Work closely with and support account executives, providing technical expertise and support.
  • Participate in client engagements up to C-level for more complex solutions in smaller accounts.
  • Interface with internal and external experts to anticipate customer needs and facilitate solutions development.
  • Manage sales efforts in a defined account segment and meet or exceed all assigned targets.
  • Build opportunity pipeline, lead engagement process with customers and HPE colleagues, negotiate terms, and develop Statement of Work documents.

Requirements

  • University or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Directly related previous work experience in sales.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving progressively higher quota.
  • Extensive vertical industry knowledge required.
  • Typically 5-10 years advanced sales experience required.
  • Expert knowledge of products, solution or service offerings as well as competitor's offerings.
  • Broad command of the value proposition for ITAD services related to financial, operational, business risk, and sustainability objectives.
  • Understanding of the industry and market segment in which key accounts are situated.
  • Familiarity with financial solutions associated with IT assets including leasing and consumption models.
  • Account planning and accurate account revenue forecasting skills.
