The ITIL Production Operations Server Administration role is a critical position within a prestigious financial company, focusing on ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of production operations. This position operates on a 3rd shift schedule, from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Tuesday through Saturday, and offers the flexibility of remote work. The primary responsibility of the ITIL Production Server Operations Administrator is to act as a technical liaison across various teams, including Production Control, Production Support, Release Management, Platform Services, Storage, Unix, Networking, Business Operations, and Change/Problem/Incident Management. The role emphasizes a proactive approach to production operations, shifting the operational posture from reactive to proactive, and advocating for continuous improvement (CI) practices. In this role, the administrator will analyze and report on production performance, capacity, and critical-path processing to identify opportunities for improvement. They will also be responsible for troubleshooting complex hardware and software issues, collaborating with IT staff and vendors to ensure effective resolution. The administrator will consult on operational best practices, adhere to production security requirements, and advocate for ITIL processes, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management. Additionally, the role requires active participation in incident management and the identification of environmental risks, ensuring that production availability aligns with business priorities. The position may require after-hours and weekend work during maintenance windows, emphasizing the need for flexibility and commitment to operational excellence.
