About the position

The Senior Software Tester will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of software applications within the Department of Technology, Management and Budget. This role involves designing and executing test plans, identifying defects, and collaborating with development teams to enhance software performance and reliability. The position supports the department's mission to provide efficient services to state agencies through effective software solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for software applications.
  • Identify, document, and track defects in software applications.
  • Collaborate with development teams to resolve issues and improve software quality.
  • Perform regression testing and ensure that new features do not adversely affect existing functionality.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on software design and implementation.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts to improve testing efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance.
  • Strong knowledge of testing methodologies and tools.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and tools.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, or Python.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with performance testing tools.
  • Knowledge of database testing and SQL.
