About the position

The Senior Software Tester position at the Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) in Michigan is responsible for leading testing initiatives for the Departmental Solutions area, specifically supporting the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). This role involves providing senior software testing support across various applications and platforms, mentoring team members, and guiding leadership on new testing tools. The position plays a critical role in quality assurance and the implementation of IT strategic direction for client agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Lead testing initiatives for the Departmental Solutions area supporting DHHS.
  • Provide senior software testing support across multiple applications and platforms.
  • Mentor other team members in testing practices and methodologies.
  • Guide leadership on the evaluation and use of new testing tools.
  • Conduct quality assurance evaluations and ensure sufficient documentation for management and client agencies.
  • Lead the implementation of assigned client agency IT strategic direction and planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 21 semester credits in relevant fields such as computer science or IT project management.
  • Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11.
  • Alternate education and experience options available, including an associate's degree with relevant experience or high school diploma with extensive experience.

  • Experience testing APIs.
  • Experience testing Salesforce applications.
  • Experience using Selenium for testing.
  • Experience using SOAP UI and READY API for testing.
  • Experience in Oracle DB.
