About the position

The FinOps Architect position at Capgemini is a critical role focused on managing and optimizing cloud financial operations, specifically within the Azure environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring cost efficiency and transparency in Azure cloud expenditures. This role requires collaboration with finance, IT, and business teams to align cloud spending with organizational goals and drive financial accountability. The architect will implement tagging across the full estate, monitor and analyze Azure cloud spending, and identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for cost savings. Additionally, they will maintain cost allocation and chargeback models to accurately distribute cloud costs across departments or projects, utilizing Azure Cost Management + Billing tools to track and manage expenses effectively. In terms of optimization and efficiency, the FinOps Architect will develop and enforce cost optimization strategies, such as rightsizing resources, leveraging reserved instances, and eliminating unused assets. They will recommend and implement best practices for the cost-effective use of Azure services and conduct regular reviews and audits of cloud resource utilization and spending. Financial reporting and analysis are also key components of this role, as the architect will generate and present detailed financial reports on cloud spending, budget forecasts, and cost optimization efforts, providing insights and recommendations to stakeholders based on financial data analysis. Governance and compliance are essential aspects of the position, requiring the establishment and maintenance of cloud cost governance frameworks and policies, ensuring adherence to organizational and regulatory financial policies. The architect will work closely with IT, DevOps, and business teams to align cloud usage with financial goals, providing training and guidance on FinOps best practices and tools. Continuous improvement is a priority, with the architect expected to stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in cloud financial management, proposing and implementing enhancements to improve efficiency and effectiveness in cloud financial operations.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in cloud financial management, preferably with a focus on Azure.
  • Proficiency in using Azure Cost Management + Billing tools.
  • Strong understanding of cloud cost management principles and best practices.
  • Experience with financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and services, particularly within Azure.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant certifications such as FinOps Certified Practitioner or Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals.
  • Experience with financial management tools and platforms like CloudHealth, Cloudability, or similar.
  • Knowledge of IT and cloud governance frameworks.
