About the position

The ITS Director, Cerner at Lifepoint Health is responsible for leading the functional development, implementation, and optimization of Oracle/Cerner applications across the organization. This role is critical in achieving strategic goals and supporting initiatives by providing direction and oversight to multiple Cerner application teams. The director will act as a mentor, ensuring service excellence and quality delivery in execution, while also collaborating with operational leadership to improve processes and outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison across teams and operational leadership to ensure needs are articulated and understood.
  • Guide and embed technology into clinician workflows to improve productivity and patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with operational leadership to identify and implement process improvements within Cerner applications.
  • Lead business systems analysts and consultants in the design, build, and optimization of assigned solutions.
  • Direct day-to-day activities of the team supporting assigned applications and drive implementation timelines.
  • Support execution of deployment models for various types of facility system conversions.
  • Oversee change management and improvements related to assigned Cerner systems.
  • Guide development and deployment of training materials and process designs.
  • Lead a team focusing on technology skills and adoption aspects of Cerner technology.
  • Serve as a change agent for complex organizational technology initiatives.
  • Support quality initiatives and recommend system solutions for improved patient outcomes.
  • Work with the Cerner Oracle team on ongoing improvements to Cerner solutions.
  • Collaborate with all levels of the organization to guide adoption of healthcare documentation systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
  • Minimum 10 years of leadership experience, including 3 years in a healthcare setting.
  • At least 7 years of experience with application systems or technology implementations.
  • Progressive leadership experience managing resources and teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Healthcare background in Laboratory, Radiology, or Nursing preferred.
  • Cerner certification preferred.
