As a Programmer Advisor at GDIT, you will play a crucial role in transforming technology into opportunity by building and enhancing IT Service Management (ITSM) systems. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and integrate various applications and tools, including JIRA Service Management, Dynatrace, Sailpoint, and Active Directory, within a secure environment tailored for the Space Force. This position requires a deep understanding of programming languages and systems software, as you will be tasked with coding applications, designing integrations, and maintaining the ITSM system to ensure it operates efficiently and effectively. In this role, you will work closely with the Space Force customer to gather and understand their requirements, leading a team of programmers to deliver the ITSM system. You will be responsible for building, configuring, and maintaining the JIRA Service Management system, utilizing your programming skills to integrate commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products to monitor, manage, and automate ITSM processes. Your work will involve designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining operating systems and software, as well as troubleshooting issues and providing customer support for software systems. You will also have the opportunity to coach and guide less-experienced professionals, serving as a team or task lead when necessary. This position not only requires technical expertise but also strong analytical skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities to continuously improve the systems in place.
