About the position

Innova Solutions is seeking a Data Architect 2 - Data Analyst to join our team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This position is a contract role that requires a strong background in data architecture and analytics, particularly with cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience working with AWS and familiarity with other cloud platforms such as GCP and Azure. The role involves a significant focus on building data pipelines, with approximately 50-60% of the time dedicated to this task, 30% on data processing, and 10% attending agile ceremonies. The Data Architect will be responsible for managing data across various fields, collecting and analyzing data, and addressing numerous data quality issues. The candidate should have experience in SQL, ETL, ELT, and data pipeline development. A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is required, along with some experience in DevOps and CI/CD practices. The role also demands analytical skills in AWS services such as Glue, Redshift, Lambda, and Kinesis, as well as the ability to extract data from relational databases and JSON files using ETL processes. The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge of cloud technologies, particularly AWS Data Analytics tools, and a broad understanding of data engineering methodologies, including data warehousing, data ingestion, and data visualization tools. Strong coding skills in languages such as Pyspark, Scala, and SQL are essential, along with experience in data streaming technologies like Kafka and Kinesis. Familiarity with Business Intelligence concepts, data governance, and security practices is also important for this role. Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain data pipelines to support data processing and analytics.
  • Collect and analyze data from various sources to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies and collaborate with team members to deliver data solutions.
  • Resolve data quality issues and implement best practices for data management.
  • Extract data from relational databases and JSON files using ETL processes.
  • Utilize AWS services such as Glue, Redshift, Lambda, and Kinesis for data analytics.
  • Develop and implement data governance and security practices.
  • Work with data visualization tools to present data insights effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience with cloud data and analytics platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL, ETL, ELT, reporting, and data warehousing concepts.
  • 3+ years of experience with general IT concepts such as integrations, encryption, and real-time processing.
  • Strong coding skills in Pyspark, Scala, and SQL.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with data streaming technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, or PubSub.
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence Dimensional Modeling and Slowly Changing Dimensions.
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools and techniques, including CI/CD and Azure DevOps.
  • Experience in handling unstructured streaming data.
