About the position

IU Health Arnett Physicians is seeking a PRN Medical Physicist to join their established Radiation Oncology clinic in Lafayette, Indiana. This role involves providing a full range of physics services to Radiation Therapy, ensuring high standards of care in a collaborative environment with a focus on patient safety and quality assurance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a full range of physics services to Radiation Therapy, including calibration, dosimetry, treatment planning, and Quality Assurance.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, Advanced Practice Providers, and clinical staff to ensure excellent patient care.
  • Participate in research and development activities related to radiation therapy.
  • Perform Quality Assurance work occasionally on weekends as needed.

Requirements

  • Board certification by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Radiological Physics.
  • Indiana State Licensure as a Physicist in Radiation Oncology.
  • MS or PhD in medical physics, physics, radiation biology, or a related discipline, or a combination of education and significant comparable experience in radiation therapy.
  • Good organizational skills and previous experience with computer systems and various software packages.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well to patients and staff.
  • Knowledge of standard precautions and environmental protection standards.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with TrueBeam linacs and associated technologies.
  • Familiarity with Eclipse/ARIA and RadCalc software.
