About the position

As a CBRE Application Developer Lead, you will play a pivotal role in planning and developing specialized application software tailored for clients utilizing Integrated Workplace Management System (IWMS) solutions. This position is integral to the Application Development function, where you will be responsible for delivering application software development services and providing technical support for various company projects and initiatives. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that the software solutions meet the specific needs of our clients while adhering to established specifications and performance standards. In this role, you will participate in and lead the design, specification, implementation, and maintenance of IWMS and Computer-Aided Facility Management (CAFM) systems, including platforms such as Archibus and Nuvolo. Collaboration will be key as you work closely with clients and internal teams to understand user requirements and translate them into effective software solutions. You will assess the feasibility of design and project parameters, ensuring that all developments are completed within time and cost constraints. Your responsibilities will also include evaluating user needs, developing code, and designing new software applications for client use. You will modify existing software to correct errors or enhance performance, assist with software testing and validation, and ensure that all applications operate within the established specifications. Gathering and evaluating user feedback will be essential for improving software usability, and you will design databases tailored to specific application areas. Additionally, you will identify required system performance standards and hardware configurations based on client budgets and security needs. As a leader, you will model behaviors consistent with CBRE's RISE values and work within standardized procedures to achieve objectives and meet deadlines. Your ability to communicate effectively, ask questions, and ensure understanding will be vital in this collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Participate and lead in the design, specification, implementation, and maintenance of IWMS and CAFM systems, including Archibus and/or Nuvolo.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand and meet user needs.
  • Assess the feasibility of design and project parameters within time and cost constraints.
  • Evaluate user needs, develop code, and design new software for client use.
  • Modify existing software to correct errors or improve performance.
  • Assist with software testing, validation, installation, procedures, and programming.
  • Ensure the application operates within established specifications.
  • Gather and evaluate user feedback and modify software for better usability.
  • Design databases for specific application areas.
  • Identify required system performance standards and hardware configurations based on the client's budget, security needs, and other parameters.
  • Collaborate with systems analysts, engineers, and programmers to design systems to support required applications.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.
  • Work within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Exchange straightforward information, ask questions, and check for understanding.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with up to 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in programming skills such as Java, JavaScript, XML, HTML, React and/or ServiceNow is required.
  • Familiarity with IWMS (ie. Archibus, FM Systems, Manhattan, Nuvolo, Serraview, iOffice, etc) systems is recommended.
  • Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems.
  • Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.
