About the position

The J2EE Java Developer is responsible for complex coding and managing sections of ongoing projects while adhering to deadlines. This role involves creating design specifications, unit testing, and preparing technical documentation. The developer will maintain professional relationships with customers and cross-team members, ensuring expectations are met.

Responsibilities

• Update and develop software and provide customer support.
• Assist Product and Project Management in initial planning by understanding the problem domain and aligning it with software engineering to produce assessments for project success.
• Manage the assignment and coordination of technical activities and deliver technical artifacts throughout the project.
• Develop expertise in key software development and system implementation technologies.
• Assist in maintaining system administration, development, and support documentation.
• Assist with planning, requirement analysis, and testing of system patches and upgrades.
• Support production issues by researching, analyzing issues, and delivering solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related subject.
• Minimum of four years of progressively responsible directly-related experience.
• Strong competence in several programming languages and technologies.
• Advanced knowledge of J2EE, JAVA, Oracle PL/SQL, Struts, Spring Framework, and design patterns.
• Development experience with application/web servers such as Weblogic and Tomcat.
• Strong proficiency in JDBC and data access design patterns.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with Web Services: RESTful, SOA.
• Experience with build tools such as ANT and Maven.
• Knowledge of version control systems and bug tracking tools.
