About the position

The J2EE Web Developer position is a direct hire role with a leading financial company located in Arlington, VA. The role involves developing J2EE web applications using various frameworks and technologies, contributing to the company's software development efforts. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in application design and programming, particularly in J2EE technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop J2EE web applications using popular frameworks including JSF, PrimeFaces, Google Web Toolkit (GWT), and AJAX.
• Develop Web Services using JAX-WS.
• Develop EJBs using a J2EE Application Server.
• Utilize open source development tools such as Netbeans, Eclipse, JasperReports, PMD, CruiseControl, and CVS.

Requirements

• Eight plus years of progressive experience in application systems design and programming.
• Experience in application development using object-oriented principles and design patterns.
• Experience with J2EE application servers.
• Hands-on experience with J2EE technologies, specifically JSF, EJB, JDBC, and JMS.
• Working knowledge of Unix, XML, FTP, Oracle, SQL Server, PL/SQL, Object-Oriented Analysis & Design (OOAD), and web-based technologies (HTML, CSS).
• Ability to investigate new technologies and identify their applicability to the enterprise and to address business needs.
• Self-directed and results/goal oriented.
• Requires a B.S. in computer science or equivalent experience.
