About the position

The position involves providing a comprehensive program of classroom, work-based, and community-based activities aimed at helping students achieve their personal and program goals. The role includes teaching the Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) curriculum in high schools, utilizing effective teaching methods, and developing lesson plans that incorporate JAG competencies. Additionally, the position requires outreach activities to recruit students, case management services, and maintaining program data and records.

Responsibilities

• Teach classes of the Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) curriculum in the assigned high school daily.
• Develop classroom lesson plans incorporating the JAG curriculums along with supplemental materials, activities, and guest speakers.
• Grade and record students' assignments and assign letter grades every marking period.
• Formulate and implement outreach activities to recruit students for the JAG program.
• Provide information and education to students and their parents/guardians about the JAG program.
• Assess each student's educational and employment preparedness and administer required testing and assessments.
• Provide case management services, guidance, support, tutoring, and referrals to community partners.
• Input data into multiple database systems and maintain case files.
• Provide monthly follow-up services to students for a minimum of one year following graduation.
• Monitor and maintain program and participant data and records.

Requirements

• Related Associate degree from an accredited university or college, or equivalent work experience.
• Related work experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Familiarity with the communities being served, with knowledge and understanding of local needs and resources.
• One to three years' experience in workforce development or related programs preferred.
