About the position

PCSI is seeking a dedicated Janitor to join our facility maintenance team at our corporate headquarters located in south Austin, TX. This role is essential in ensuring that our corporate building and exterior grounds are kept clean and well-maintained. The Janitor will be responsible for a variety of cleaning tasks, including but not limited to cleaning offices, common areas, and restrooms. The position requires a commitment to maintaining a clean and orderly environment, which is crucial for the comfort and safety of our employees and visitors. The Janitor will perform routine custodial work, which includes sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing surfaces, and removing trash. The role involves cleaning various areas such as rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, break rooms, restrooms, corridors, elevators, and stairways. Additionally, the Janitor will be responsible for cleaning and polishing lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim, as well as vacuuming carpets and upholstered furniture. The position also requires the ability to wash walls, ceilings, and windows, and to replenish bathroom supplies as needed. This position is part-time, with typical hours from Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM, totaling 30 hours per week. The Janitor will also be expected to open, close, lock, and unlock facilities as needed, move and set up furniture, and maintain assigned cleaning equipment in satisfactory working condition. Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of routine, unskilled, and semi-skilled custodial work while maintaining the premises of the office building in a clean and orderly condition.
• Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, break rooms, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and other work areas.
• Cleans and polishes lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.
• Sweeps and mops floors and may occasionally operate a floor buffer.
• Cleans rugs and/or vacuums carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Dusts furniture and equipment. Polishes metalwork.
• Washes walls, ceilings, and woodwork. Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empties wastebaskets and cleans ashtrays.
• Transports trash, waste, and recyclables to disposal areas.
• Replenishes bathroom supplies.
• Opens, closes, locks, and unlocks facilities as needed.
• Moves and sets up furniture, pictures, etc. as needed and assigned.
• Conserves cleaning supplies.
• Maintains assigned equipment in satisfactory and working condition.
• Reads and understands correct dilution rates for cleaning chemicals.
• Follows all facility safety policies and procedures.
• Complies with all city, state, and federal agency requirements.
• Reads and fully understands the 'Material Safety Data Sheets' (MSDS) for all chemicals and solutions used in our processes and procedures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• One (1) year of experience as a janitor preferred.
• Ability to pass criminal and drug screening.
• Ability to perform heavy work, including pushing objects up to 100 pounds and lifting or carrying objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
• Ability to ascend and descend ladders and stairs.
• Ability to tour facility approximately 90% of the time during working hours.

Nice-to-haves

• Base pay of $17.20/hr.
• Annual bonus of up to 6%.
