About the position

The Janitor is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the store premises and surrounding areas, ensuring a clean and safe environment for customers and staff. This role involves various cleaning tasks, equipment maintenance, and customer assistance, all while adhering to safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Clean, strip, wax, spot mop and sweep the floor areas of the store.
• Maintain cleanliness of outside premises including sidewalks, planters, trash cans, and lights.
• Replace lights and lamps as needed.
• Assist customers with their questions and maintain good customer relations.
• Maintain all maintenance equipment in good working condition.
• Keep supplies and equipment in a neat, clean, organized manner in the designated area.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma is preferred but not required.
• Ability to read supply, machinery, and equipment labels.
• Must possess efficient hand-eye coordination and be able to operate machinery associated with this position.
• Must maintain a sense of integrity.

Benefits

• Hourly pay range of $16.10 - $18.30.
• Covered under the SEIU 1877 union agreement.
