About the position

The Janitorial Supervisor is responsible for overseeing janitorial operations, ensuring that cleaning tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards. This role involves coordinating and monitoring the work of janitor/custodians, managing schedules, and ensuring compliance with safety and cleaning protocols. The supervisor also engages in quality assurance activities and collaborates with the operations management team to maintain smooth contract operations.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise assigned janitor/custodians, ensuring adequate staffing and scheduling.
• Train new janitor/custodians on job methods, procedures, and safety protocols.
• Monitor team performance and provide feedback and training as needed.
• Develop cleaning schedules and ensure timely completion of tasks to required standards.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and address client concerns promptly.
• Collaborate with management to address staffing needs and operational challenges.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols among team members.
• Perform janitorial duties as needed and complete general administrative tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 or more years of experience in a janitorial/custodial role.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures.
• Basic computer skills.

Nice-to-haves

• 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial position in the janitorial/custodial industry.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
