About the position

The Japan Customer Service Representative will provide exceptional customer service to Japanese mass market customers through the Japan Help Desk at First Hawaiian Bank. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can effectively communicate in both English and Japanese, ensuring customer inquiries are handled with professionalism and cultural sensitivity.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to Japanese mass market customers through the Japan Help Desk.
  • Assist customers with inquiries related to banking products and services.
  • Utilize judgment and discretion in resolving customer issues.
  • Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive customer information.
  • Ensure attention to detail and follow-through on customer requests.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Professional level bilingual capability in English and Japanese in reading, writing, and speaking required.
  • 1 - 2 years' experience with Japanese clients in customer service preferred.
  • Familiarity with Japanese business culture.
  • Familiarity with financial statements and banking products.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • PC proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
  • Good organizational skills.

Benefits

  • Competitive hourly salary range of $19.50-$23.50/hour, commensurate with experience.
  • Work schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.
