About the position

The HR Assistant Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the HR department at a large food manufacturing company in Pomona, CA. This position involves managing various HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, personnel management, and compliance with local employment laws. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in Japanese and possess strong communication skills, along with a solid background in human resources.

Responsibilities

• Calculate and report temporary staff work hours to the respective temporary staffing agencies.
• Contact temporary staffing agencies, update changes, receive invoices, and reconcile with Excel.
• Manage communication with manufacturing teams to ensure necessary shifts are available.
• Oversee employee recruitment and onboarding processes.
• Coordinate recruitment activities and interview arrangements.
• Prepare and manage offer letters and new hire information.
• Plan and conduct new employee orientations.
• Maintain personnel information and accurately input important data on new employees.
• Develop personnel evaluations, surveys, and exit interviews.
• Ensure compliance with local employment laws and company policies.
• Develop proactive plans for improving the work environment.
• Plan and implement training and education for employees.
• Report payroll to the CPA.
• Administer and report on 401K contributions.
• Support the HR department in day-to-day operations.

Requirements

• Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
• Experience in Human Resources (3 years required).
• Experience in Human Resources Department (3 years required).
• Good communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
• Bilingual in Japanese.
