About the position

The Japanese Bilingual Payroll Specialist position at Advantage Technical is a fully remote role that plays a crucial part in supporting clients with their payroll needs. This position is particularly suited for candidates residing in California, New York, Texas, Washington, or Tennessee. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for the entire payroll process, from initial setup to ongoing maintenance, ensuring that clients receive exceptional service and support. You will consult with clients to customize payroll procedures that meet their specific needs, and you will be a key point of contact for any payroll-related inquiries. Your role will involve maintaining accurate payroll records, meeting all deadlines, and providing clients with guidance on federal and state payroll compliance regulations. Additionally, you will assist with administrative tasks related to payroll, including invoicing and document preparation, and support new hire onboarding and offboarding processes. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to foster positive relationships with clients, ensuring their payroll data is processed accurately and on time.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with corporate clients to define and tailor payroll policies and procedures that fit their needs.
  • Set up and install ADP software for new clients, ensuring a seamless transition.
  • Offer basic ADP software tutorials and ongoing support.
  • Collaborate effectively with clients to collect accurate and timely payroll data.
  • Maintain payroll records with accuracy and meet all monthly and year-end deadlines.
  • Provide advice to clients to keep them informed on federal and state payroll compliance regulations.
  • Support clients on various payroll-related questions and ADP software.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as invoicing, responding to vendor inquiries, and document preparation.
  • Assist with new hire onboarding, offboarding, annual benefit renewals and other payroll-related information updates.
  • Other payroll and administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with payroll at a consulting, accounting, or outsourcing firm.
  • Experience with ADP Online or in preparing personal income taxes (a plus).
  • Bilingual Japanese and English skills (Japanese: reading, writing and speaking).
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
