About the position

The Java and Angular Developer position is a critical contractor role within the GFIIT team, aimed at remediating the OCC MRA, FRB MRIA, and recommendations from the E&Y IRRBB assessment for the CIO and Treasury. The role involves developing, enhancing, debugging, supporting, maintaining, and testing software applications that support various business units or functions. The applications developed may utilize diverse platforms, software, hardware, technologies, and tools. The developer will participate in the design, development, and implementation of complex applications, often leveraging new technologies. This position requires providing technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives, serving as a seasoned technical resource, and potentially leading projects while directing team activities related to special initiatives or operations. Collaboration with external programmers may also be necessary to coordinate the delivery of software applications. The role operates under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more experienced consultants, and typically requires over six years of experience in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance software applications to support business units.
  • Debug, support, maintain, and test software applications.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of complex applications using new technologies.
  • Provide technical direction and system architecture for initiatives.
  • Lead projects and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations.
  • Collaborate with external programmers to coordinate software application delivery.
  • Demonstrate best practices throughout the software development lifecycle, focusing on application resilience.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of application programming experience in JAVA, J2EE, Angular, RESTful Web Services, SQL, XML, and Oracle.
  • Excellent software design and documentation skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to a constantly changing environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and experience with the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Effective communication skills across technology, business units, and senior leadership.

Nice-to-haves

  • Intermediate knowledge of Python.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodology of software development.
  • Familiarity with Quartz remote risk framework and calculators.
  • Knowledge of key Quartz components like Sandra, Bob, Hugs.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a high-functioning team environment.
