About the position

The Java/Angular Developer position at a Fortune 500 transportation company in Fort Worth, TX, is a contract role focused on leveraging cutting-edge technology to solve business problems. The developer will participate in all phases of the software development process, advocating for agile methodologies and test-driven development while enhancing the codebase through object-oriented development tools.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in all phases of the development process from inception through transition.
  • Advocate for the agile process and test-driven development.
  • Use object-oriented development tools to analyze, model, design, construct, and test reusable objects.
  • Enhance the codebase to improve overall quality and performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience/training.
  • 4 years of full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience designing, developing, and implementing large-scale applications in hosted production environments.
  • 2+ years of Microservice framework / REST development with Spring Framework.
  • Proficiency in Full Stack Development.
  • Proficiency in J2EE technologies: Java11+, JSP, JMS, JAXB, JDBC, EJB.
  • Experience with cloud-based development using Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Familiarity with web servers such as Tomcat and Websphere.
  • Experience with web services: REST/SOAP (JSON/WSDL/XML).
  • Knowledge of frameworks like Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
  • Experience with build/deployment tools: Maven, Git, Junit, Mockito.
  • Familiarity with DevOps toolchain: GitHub, Azure DevOps, Azure Data Explorer, and Elastic Search.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix shell scripting, IBM MQ/Rabbit MQ, and Redis Cache.
  • Experience with TDD and BDD development patterns.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented design techniques and principles.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies, such as SCRUM.
  • Experience in DevOps Toolchain methodologies, including Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment.

Nice-to-haves

  • 6 years of full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience.
  • 2+ years of Kubernetes Services with a deep understanding of Container Orchestration and Distributed System Concepts.
