About the position

The Java API Developer role focuses on developing and maintaining high-quality APIs with a strong emphasis on security and performance. The position requires a solid understanding of API fundamentals, object-oriented programming, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams with minimal guidance. The ideal candidate will have experience in microservices architecture and be proficient in Java, with a strong foundation in RESTful services and API security.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain production-quality code in Java.
• Implement and manage RESTful APIs with a focus on security and performance.
• Collaborate with tech leads and cross-functional teams to align on project goals.
• Review and enhance existing API documentation and error handling processes.
• Utilize microservices architecture and frameworks such as Spring Boot.
• Work with SQL and No-SQL databases to support API functionality.

Requirements

• Strong foundations in API exposure and development.
• Proficiency in Java programming and production code review.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and REST fundamentals.
• Experience with API security concepts including AuthN and AuthZ.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and Spring Boot framework.
• Knowledge of SQL and No-SQL databases.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with GraphQL.
• Understanding of API Security fundamentals.
• Familiarity with OpenAPI Specification (OAS) for API documentation.
