About the position

As a Java Application Designer at Gainwell, you will play a crucial role in leveraging technology to enhance the health and well-being of vulnerable communities. This position involves leading technical teams in the design, development, testing, and installation of complex database applications, ensuring that the solutions are flexible and reusable. You will also be responsible for creating detailed documentation, providing technical consulting, and mentoring less experienced designers, all while contributing to innovative solutions in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Head up technical teams and workstreams to design, develop, test, and install complex database applications software.
• Oversee relationships between application architects and developers to ensure design requirements result in flexible, reusable system components.
• Write highly complex design, coding, and testing documentation that yields purpose-built technical products.
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in development, domain, application design, and database methodologies.
• Provide technical consulting on complex projects by refining existing applications and designing new modules and components.
• Mentor and guide less experienced application designers.

Requirements

• 9 or more years of application, web, and product design and support experience across the development life cycle.
• 3 or more years of experience working with Medicaid and Medicare technologies preferred.
• 9 or more years of full stack design and development of applications involving Java technologies, Spring MVC/Boot/Batch, JPA.
• Expertise in software and product design methodologies, programming languages, operating systems, web development, and application implementation.
• Strong executive presence and excellent communication skills across application developers, customers, support personnel, and management.
• Effective leadership and motivational skills, with the ability to mentor individual contributors.
