About the position
The Java Application Developer position is a hands-on role focused on developing and maintaining Java-based applications, particularly within a full-stack environment. The developer will work primarily onsite in a hybrid setup, contributing to the design and implementation of microservices and web applications while collaborating with a large team. This role requires a strong background in Java, Spring Boot, and various web technologies, with an emphasis on cloud computing and agile methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Java-based applications and microservices.
- Design and implement RESTful web services using Spring/JAX-RS.
- Collaborate with team members to build and deploy applications using CI/CD pipelines.
- Leverage AWS Cloud Services for application development and microservices architecture.
- Participate in Agile development processes and contribute to team meetings and planning sessions.
- Ensure secure coding practices are followed in application development.
- Support and implement complex integration projects as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- 4 to 7 years of hands-on experience in software development with WebLogic Portal and J2EE technologies.
- 3+ years of experience designing and developing microservices using Java/Spring Boot and Node.js.
- Experience with API concepts and technologies such as REST, JSON, XML, SOAP, YAML, GraphQL, and Swagger.
- Hands-on experience with Angular, NgRx, RxJS, and micro-frontend development.
- Good working knowledge of HTML, Ajax, JQuery, and JavaScript.
- Experience with Oracle RDBMS and exposure to PL/SQL is a plus.
- Familiarity with SVN/GIT or equivalent source control systems.
- Experience configuring web service security policies and secure coding practices.
Nice-to-haves
- AWS Cloud development experience and AWS Developer Certification.
- Exposure to SOA suite middleware.
- Experience in the securities or financial services industry.
