About the position

The Java Application Developer role involves managing complex projects through the entire application delivery cycle, including design, development, testing, and debugging. The developer will work as an individual contributor, responsible for writing code, providing technical guidance, and ensuring project deliverables meet quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Use appropriate programming language and technology to write code, complete programming and documentation, and perform testing and debugging of applications for the enterprise.
• Provide technical and analytical input/guidance to the project team and assist developers regarding project architecture and application programming practices.
• Manage individual projects and work as an individual contributor; responsible for completing projects within the allotted timeline.
• Assist with the definition of project scope and objectives, provide technical architecture input, and coordinate programming practices of a project team, identifying resource needs.
• Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, and status reports.
• Conduct project meetings and be responsible for project tracking and analysis.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and review project deliverables.
• Recommend and take action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems.

Requirements

• 9-12 years of experience in developing Java applications.
• 5+ years of experience in developing backend web applications.
• Expert in Java (11+) programming language, Spring Framework & Libraries, and Spock Unit testing.
• Very good understanding of Cassandra database for large volumes of data, including table design and query patterns.
• Very good understanding of Apache Kafka for asynchronous message processing.
• Proven development experience supporting large volume, low latency transactions.
• Good knowledge of Azure Cloud environments, Kubernetes, Docker, and Git.
