About the position

The Java Application Developer will be responsible for the full application lifecycle support, which includes requirement analysis, design, development, implementation, version and change control, and maintenance. The role also involves minor project management tasks for a development team of 4-5 people, focusing on project plans, schedules, work estimates, and maintaining customer relationships. The ideal candidate will take on a leadership role, providing technical guidance and representing the team in client interactions.

Responsibilities

• Perform full application lifecycle support including requirement analysis, design, development, implementation, version and change control, and maintenance.
• Manage minor project management tasks for a development team of 4-5 people.
• Create project plans and schedules, and provide work estimates.
• Maintain customer and prime contractor relationships.
• Lead technical and project leadership efforts for the Acentia team.

Requirements

• 7+ years of Software Development experience.
• Experience developing web applications using Java, REST, JavaScript, AJAX, and ExtJS.
• Significant experience with ExtJS is highly desired.
• Deep understanding of front-end web technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with server-side technologies JAX-RS, JPA/Hibernate/JDO, and Spring.
• Solid knowledge of data modeling and SQL, with experience in data modeling tools being a plus.
• Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and related disciplines from requirements to test deployment and support.
• Experience with version control, configuration management, automated build, unit testing, and Tomcat/JBoss configuration and deployment.
• Agile application development experience.
