About the position

The Java AWS Developer position is a critical role that involves executing software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build innovative solutions and effectively break down complex technical problems. This role requires the creation of secure and high-quality production code while maintaining algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems. The developer will be responsible for producing architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring that design constraints are met through diligent software code development. In addition to coding responsibilities, the Java AWS Developer will gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets. This analysis will serve the continuous improvement of software applications and systems. The candidate will proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data, using these insights to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture. Furthermore, the developer will contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies, fostering a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect within the team. This position is based in Columbus, OH, or Plano, TX, and is open to independent visa holders only. The role demands a strong technical background, with a focus on collaboration and innovation in software development.

Responsibilities

  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
  • Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
  • Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets for continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
  • Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture.
  • Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies.
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Proficient in coding in one or more languages; Java, Spring, Spring Boot.
  • Experienced in React, Angular, with a focus on user experience and able to lead technical design and build outs independently.
  • Experienced in integrating UI components with micro-services.
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern programming languages and database querying languages.
  • Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).

  • Experience in working with CICD pipeline.
