As a Java AWS Engineer at Comcast, you will be part of the Xfinity Device Fulfillment and Assurance Services (DFAS) team, which is responsible for managing applications that handle operational equipment data related to customer lifecycle and service fulfillment. This role is crucial in delivering back-office systems for Xfinity products and services by developing and maintaining applications that are highly scalable and resilient. You will work within a Scrum team focused on the Fulfillment Assurance Hub, based in Englewood, CO. In this Engineer 3-level position, you will leverage your 5-7 years of full-time work experience and proficiency in key technologies such as AWS Lambda, Java, and Micro-services. Your responsibilities will include collaborating with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements, conducting analyses to determine integration needs, and designing new software and web applications. You will also support applications under development, customize current applications, and assist with the software update process for existing applications and roll-outs of software releases. Additionally, you will participate in training representatives and operations staff on internally developed software applications, research and write documentation and technical requirements, and monitor competitive applications and products. You will provide technical leadership throughout the design process, serve as a guide and mentor for junior-level Software Development Engineers, and work closely with the Quality Assurance team to ensure applications meet specifications and technical requirements. This role requires a consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance, along with regular attendance and the ability to work nights, weekends, and overtime as necessary.
