About the position

The Java/AWS Solution Architect role is a senior-level position requiring extensive experience in providing technical solutions, particularly in the property and casualty insurance domain. The architect will lead digital projects, design and implement solutions using Java and AWS technologies, and ensure adherence to client standards. This position involves collaboration with both onsite and offshore teams, participating in planning sessions, and overseeing the development and deployment of critical application components.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical solutions for property and casualty insurance projects.
  • Lead refinement features and digital projects using Java and AWS.
  • Gather requirements, prepare implementable designs, and plan releases for solutions.
  • Participate in RFP proposals, offering innovative solutions and estimates.
  • Stay updated with the latest AWS services and apply hands-on expertise.
  • Participate in PI Planning sessions to define features for development.
  • Review technical deliverables to ensure compliance with client standards.
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy critical application components.
  • Coordinate with offshore teams for code development and integration.
  • Create and maintain standardized documentation for implemented solutions.
  • Work with testing teams to enhance automation testing across environments.
  • Resolve impediments by interacting with onsite and offshore teams.

Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in software architecture with Java and AWS.
  • Proven experience in providing technical solutions and leading digital projects.
  • Strong knowledge of UI technologies, particularly React JS and backend API integration.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services such as Lambda, EKS, SQS, S3, RDS, and DynamoDB.
  • Familiarity with cloud tools like Terraform, Docker, and Kafka.
  • Experience with REST and SOAP web services, Spring Boot, and JEE technologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Guidewire is a plus.
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies such as Redux, NodeJS, and modern JavaScript (ES6).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Gitlab-CI and monitoring tools like Grafana and Datadog.
