About the position

The Java Backend Developer role is focused on developing and maintaining backend systems using Java technologies. The position requires extensive experience in Java development, particularly with Google Cloud Platform, and involves working with various frameworks and tools to create robust and scalable applications. The role is onsite with hybrid options available, and candidates must be local to North Carolina or willing to relocate immediately.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend systems using Java technologies.
• Implement and optimize web services (SOAP and REST).
• Work with Google Cloud Platform for application deployment and management.
• Utilize design patterns and strong analytical skills in software development.
• Create and maintain design and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance product features.
• Optimize SQL queries and fine-tune database performance.
• Utilize messaging and middleware technologies like IBM MQ and Apache Kafka.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years of IT experience with at least 8 years as a Java Developer.
• Strong development skills in Core Java, J2EE, and Spring frameworks.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform is required.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle and SQL databases.
• Proficiency in REST and SOAP API development.
• Knowledge of design patterns and strong analytical skills.
• Experience with JMS/Messaging and middleware technologies.
• Familiarity with tools like Maven, Gradle, JIRA, and Bamboo.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of Bamboo, Jira, Spring AOP, Junit, SQL query optimization.
• Understanding of Kafka and Netflix conductor.
• Experience with microservices architecture.
