About the position

CGI is seeking an experienced Java Backend Developer to join their financial services team in Pittsburgh, PA. This role involves providing leadership and hands-on integration expertise to top-tier US bank clients, focusing on building secure, scalable, and high-performance applications in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Engage with product analysts and solution architects to interpret functional specifications and develop innovative solutions.
• Build secure, scalable, and high-performance applications.
• Work in an Agile environment and actively participate in sprint/project/release planning to provide development estimates.
• Participate in requirements tuning and design reviews, sprint readiness, and retrospective reviews.
• Develop and exercise implementation and unit test cases.
• Build technical documentation.
• Communicate with client stakeholders.
• Ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and end-user requirements.
• Develop testable features with lean requirements and supervision.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge in Core Java, Spring Core, Spring Boot, REST, SOAP, Oracle SQLs, Junits (Must)
• Familiarity with Spring MVC, JSP, Jquery, Angular, Tomcat (Good to have)
• Knowledge of Agile process, Expert knowledge of Java, REST API, SQL, SoapUI, UDeploy, Git
• Familiarity with various software architectural and design patterns.
• Good communication skills (must have)
• Experience with continuous deployment and validation of code in testing environments, as well as leading hotfix and production code releases (Jenkins, UDeploy, OCP).

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with Spring MVC, JSP, Jquery, Angular, Tomcat.
