About the position

The Sr. Backend Developer (Java & Spring) position at DMS Vision Inc. is focused on developing and maintaining back-end applications, particularly in the auto insurance sector. The role requires a strong background in Java and Spring Boot, with an emphasis on Agile methodologies and Test Driven Development. The developer will work on agent-facing applications, utilizing various web services and APIs, while also ensuring the implementation of security protocols and cloud-native solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain back-end applications using Java and Spring Boot.
• Implement Open API standards for agent-facing applications.
• Work in an Agile environment utilizing Test Driven Development methodology.
• Develop and consume Web Services (REST, SOAP) and APIs relevant to the auto insurance industry.
• Utilize SQL and PostgreSQL for data management and manipulation.
• Conduct unit testing using frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
• Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native solutions, including Lambda and EKS.
• Implement security protocols using JWT, OAuth, OpenID, and SAML.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong background in back-end development with Java and Spring framework.
• Experience in Agile and waterfall project methodologies.
• Proficiency with the latest version of Spring Boot framework.
• Experience with developing/consuming Web Services (REST, SOAP) and APIs.
• Familiarity with auto insurance industry standard models.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with PostgreSQL databases.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as JUnit, Karma, and Mockito.
• Experience with cloud-native solutions and platforms.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Terraform for infrastructure as code (IAC).
• Familiarity with Forgerock IAM for identity and access management.
• Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
