The Java Backend Developer role at Deloitte focuses on leveraging innovative technology to help clients solve business challenges. The role involves working within the Application Modernization & Innovation (AMI) practice to deliver end-to-end technology solutions that enhance clients' core business operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain back-end Java software for web and client/server solutions.
• Utilize Java Enterprise Edition (J2EE), XML, and Web Services to create web applications at an enterprise level.
• Test, debug, and triage software issues effectively.
• Gather requirements from clients to inform development processes.
• Collaborate with team members and clients to ensure project success.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of back-end Java software development experience.
• 3+ years of experience developing web applications using Java Enterprise Edition (J2EE), XML, or Web Services.
• 3+ years of experience in testing, debugging, and triage.
• Experience in requirement gathering.
• Ability to travel up to 10% overnight for client/project travel.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Nice-to-haves

• Basic understanding of Assembly (ALC, mainframe) and its use in production environments.
• Experience using Spring Framework.
