About the position

The Java Backend Developer role involves developing, enhancing, debugging, supporting, maintaining, and testing software applications that support various business units. The position requires participation in the design, development, and implementation of complex applications, often utilizing new technologies. The developer will provide technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives, potentially leading projects and directing team activities. This role operates under minimal supervision and requires a seasoned technical resource with significant experience in application programming.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, debug, support, maintain, and test software applications.
• Participate in the design, development, and implementation of complex applications.
• Provide technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives.
• Lead projects and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations.
• Collaborate with external programmers to coordinate delivery of software applications.

Requirements

• 6+ years of application programming experience in JAVA, J2EE, Angular, RESTful Web Services, SQL, XML, and Oracle.
• Excellent software design and documentation skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to a constantly changing environment.
• Excellent organization skills.
• Experience with the software development lifecycle (SDLC) model.
• Effective communication skills across technology, business units, and leadership.

Nice-to-haves

• Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
• Experience with Agile methodology of software development.
