About the position

The Java Backend Developer position at Motion Recruitment Partners is a long-term contract role based in North Brunswick, NJ, offering a hybrid work environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Java development and will collaborate with a team of developers to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Specialty Software Engineering.
• Review and analyze complex multi-faceted, larger scale, or longer-term Specialty Software Engineering challenges.
• Contribute to the resolution of complex situations requiring solid understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Specialty Software Engineering experience or equivalent through work, consulting, training, military experience, or education.
• 12+ years of experience in Java development, including coding, unit testing, and functional automation using Micro Services, Java Spring Boot, and REST API.
• Expertise in Java 11/17, object-oriented design, programming designs, and design patterns.
• Experience with code management and build/deploy tools such as Github, Jenkins, and UDeploy.
• Strong knowledge of building cloud-native applications on Pivot Cloud Foundry (PCF) or Microsoft Azure.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working in a team of 10+ developers and building rapport with Scrum stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
