About the position

The Java Backend Developer role is a long-term contract position based in Phoenix, AZ, focused on developing and delivering production-ready code using Java and related technologies. The position requires a strong understanding of object-oriented programming, cloud technologies, and experience with various frameworks and databases.

Responsibilities

• Deliver production-ready code using Core Java, Java 8, Spring/Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
• Implement and test RESTful APIs with a focus on unit and integration testing.
• Write abstraction layers to communicate with SQL and NoSQL databases such as Postgres and Cassandra.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement microservices architecture.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and cloud technologies.
• Experience with Core Java, Java 8, Spring/Spring Boot, Spring Data, Multi-Threading, and Hibernate.
• Proven experience in unit and integration testing of Spring Boot APIs.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and their implementation.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, particularly Postgres and Cassandra.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with microservice architecture.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes container environments.
• Exposure to JVM programming languages.
