About the position

Kforce has a client seeking a Java Cloud Developer in Westlake, TX. This role involves the development and implementation of software solutions in highly scalable environments, with a particular focus on financial technologies, especially electronic trading. The ideal candidate will be a successful technology and business solutions engineer with experience leading highly skilled teams. The position requires end-to-end software engineering in an Agile environment, ensuring that the solutions developed meet the high standards expected in the financial sector. The Java Cloud Developer will be responsible for creating robust software solutions that can handle large volumes of data in real-time applications. This includes working with big-data technologies such as KDB/Q or similar. The candidate should have a strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and REST services, along with exposure to cloud technologies like AWS or Microsoft Azure. The role also demands excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Previous exposure to trading systems or brokerage technology is strongly preferred, as is familiarity with event-driven and service-oriented processing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent, with a preference for advanced study
• 10+ years of IT experience as a developer
• Experience working in an Agile Environment, with a strong preference for Scrum certifications
• Demonstrated work experience with cloud technologies; Industry certifications are welcome, but hands-on experience and expertise are better
• Experienced in modern web application packaging and deployment using Yeoman, Grunt/Gulp is a huge plus
• Experienced with Ant/Maven, Nexus, Git/Jenkins or NPM is highly preferred
• Expertise in dealing with large amounts of data in real-time applications with big-data technologies such as KDB/Q or similar
• Proficient in Java, Spring Boot, REST services, and have exposure to cloud technologies such as AWS or Microsoft Azure
• Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills and the ability to run with multiple tasks at a given time
• Proven hands-on development skills with technology leadership
• Ability to help clarify user requirements and define accurate use cases
• Ability to translate business needs into technology solutions
• Previous exposure to trading systems or brokerage technology is strongly preferred

Nice-to-haves

• Preferred knowledge on ag grid
• Preferred knowledge on JEST unit testing framework
• JavaScript skills are a plus
• Familiarity with event driven and service-oriented processing is desired
