About the position
Kforce has a client seeking a Java Cloud Developer in Westlake, TX. The primary focus of this role is the development and implementation of software solutions in highly scalable environments, particularly within the financial technologies sector, with an emphasis on electronic trading. The ideal candidate will be a successful technology and business solutions engineer with experience leading highly skilled teams. This position requires end-to-end software engineering in an Agile environment, where the developer will be responsible for creating robust and efficient software solutions that meet the needs of the business and its clients. The Java Cloud Developer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that the software solutions are not only functional but also scalable and maintainable. The role demands a strong understanding of cloud technologies and the ability to work with large amounts of data in real-time applications. The candidate will be expected to clarify user requirements, define accurate use cases, and translate business needs into effective technology solutions. Previous exposure to trading systems or brokerage technology is strongly preferred, as it will aid in understanding the specific needs of the financial sector. In addition to technical skills, the candidate must possess excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. The role is designed for a proactive individual who can take initiative and drive projects to completion in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Development and implementation of software solutions in highly scalable environments with a focus on financial technologies, particularly electronic trading.
- Lead highly skilled teams to engineer successful technology and business solutions.
- Engage in end-to-end software engineering in an Agile environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent, with a preference for advanced study.
- 10+ years of IT experience as a developer.
- Experience working in an Agile Environment, with a strong preference for Scrum certifications.
- Demonstrated work experience with cloud technologies; industry certifications are welcome, but hands-on experience and expertise are better.
- Experience in modern web application packaging and deployment using Yeoman, Grunt/Gulp is a huge plus.
- Experience with Ant/Maven, Nexus, Git/Jenkins or NPM is highly preferred.
- Expertise in dealing with large amounts of data in real-time applications with big-data technologies such as KDB/Q or similar.
- Proficient in Java, Spring Boot, REST services, and exposure to cloud technologies such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proven hands-on development skills with technology leadership.
- Ability to help clarify user requirements and define accurate use cases.
- Ability to translate business needs into technology solutions.
- Previous exposure to trading systems or brokerage technology is strongly preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Preferred knowledge on ag grid.
- Preferred knowledge on JEST unit testing framework.
- Familiarity with event-driven and service-oriented processing is desired.
- JavaScript skills are a plus.
