About the position

The Java Cloud Developer at ASM Research is responsible for overseeing a development project, providing guidance to developers, and ensuring the successful design, development, and deployment of software systems. This role involves utilizing advanced technologies to create analytics from various cyber sources and developing innovative data representation methods. The developer will work closely with customers in a collaborative environment, focusing on big data cloud computing workflows and leveraging Java MapReduce for data processing.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and direction to developers on the project.
• Conceive, design, and test logical structures to meet program requirements.
• Write programs according to specifications provided.
• Build, deploy, and maintain programs, web pages, and applications.
• Develop and improve site navigation and applications.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, and document big data cloud computing workflows.
• Develop prototypes to answer new questions and improve existing solutions.
• Research and work with AWS and other platforms for development.
• Work in a cohesive, small team environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of relevant experience or Master's degree plus 3 years of relevant experience.
• An Associate's degree plus 7 years of relevant experience or high school diploma/GED plus 9 years of relevant experience may be considered for individuals with in-depth experience.
• Computer Science (CS) degree or related field.
• TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• Strong Java skills, developing software in Red Hat Linux (versions 3 - 5+).
• Experience with Java Pig, MapReduce, and technologies such as Hadoop, Hive.
• Experience with distributed scalable Big Data Store (No SQL) such as H Base, CloudBase/Accumulo, Big Tables.
• Experience with Hadoop Distributed File Systems (HDFS).
• Experience with AWS.
• Knowledge of IP Protocols and Network topologies.
• Experience with GHOSTMACHINE analytic development.
• Experience with Jira, Maven, and Git.
• Strong problem-solving skills and self-motivation.
