About the position

The Java Database Developer 3 position is a remote contract role focused on developing and maintaining database-driven Java applications. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively across teams to deliver scalable and high-performance solutions, ensuring optimal functionality and efficiency in the applications developed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain database-driven Java applications.
  • Collaborate across teams to deliver scalable, high-performance solutions.
  • Implement applications utilizing J2EE Application Server, Java security authentication, and authorization of service and user accounts.
  • Use Servlets, Spring, and Spring Batch for web application development.
  • Conduct ad hoc data analysis and reporting.
  • Build and consume Web Services (SOAP/REST).
  • Utilize CI/CD tools, GitLab, Maven, and Jenkins.
  • Engage in Full Stack Development with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, JSF, and Prime Faces 7.0.
  • Design and develop XSD and schematron data validation rules.
  • Configure application servers like WildFly, Tomcat, or WebLogic.
  • Write complex queries, stored procedures, and perform aggregate operations in Mongo DB and Postgres databases.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in Java development, including J2EE, Servlet, and related technologies.
  • 8 years of experience implementing applications with J2EE Application Server and Java security.
  • 8 years of experience using Servlets, Spring, and Spring Batch for web applications.
  • 4 years of experience in ad hoc data analysis and reporting.
  • 4 years of experience building and consuming Web Services (SOAP/REST).
  • 4 years of experience with CI/CD, GitLab, Maven, and Jenkins.
  • 4 years of experience in Full Stack Development with front-end technologies.
  • 4 years of experience in designing and developing XSD and schematron data validation rules.
  • 4 years of experience with application server configurations (WildFly, Tomcat, or WebLogic).
  • 4 years of expert-level understanding of Mongo DB and Postgres databases.

Nice-to-haves

  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills (8 years preferred).
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment (8 years preferred).
  • Familiarity with Azure App Services & Cloud Services (2 years preferred).
  • Familiarity with healthcare or State Department applications (2 years preferred).
