About the position

The Java Database Developer position at Beacon Systems, Inc. is a remote role focused on developing and implementing applications using Java and related technologies. The developer will work on various projects for federal and commercial clients, contributing to the design, development, and optimization of database queries and web services. This role requires strong technical skills in Java development, database management, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement applications using Java and J2EE technologies.
• Build and consume Web Services (SOAP/REST).
• Perform ad hoc data analysis and reporting.
• Design and optimize database queries and procedures in MongoDB and Postgres.
• Collaborate with team members in a fast-paced environment.
• Utilize CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Maven, and Jenkins for development processes.
• Work with front-end technologies including JavaScript, JSF, and Prime Faces.
• Configure application servers like WildFly, Tomcat, or WebLogic.

Requirements

• Strong experience in Java development, including J2EE and Servlet technologies.
• Proficient in using Servlets, Spring, and Spring Batch for web application development.
• Experience with Java security authentication and authorization.
• Expert level understanding of MongoDB and Postgres databases.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with Azure App Services & Cloud Services.
• Experience with healthcare or State Department applications.
