As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking Global Customer platform, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives. In this role, you will execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems. You will develop secure high-quality production code, review and debug code written by others, and identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems. Additionally, you will lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture. You will also lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies, contributing to a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect. Your technical responsibilities will include developing in Java and Groovy, performing DevOps work on AWS Cloud, utilizing container technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker, and performing infrastructure automation with Terraform or Ansible.

Responsibilities

  • Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.

  • Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
  • Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture.
  • Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
  • Develops in Java and Groovy with administration duties using WSAdmin scripts.
  • Performs DevOps work on AWS Cloud as well as container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Performs infrastructure automation with Terraform or Ansible.

Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Advanced in one or more programming language(s).
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Strong coding experience with Java and Groovy in an Agile environment.
  • Experience in Websphere administration using WSAdmin scripts.
  • Experience in developing, deploying, monitoring and building large distributed and parallel systems using container technology including (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS EKS, AWS Fargate).
  • Advanced knowledge of AWS and experience in designing and implementing services in AWS.
  • Infrastructure Automation with Ansible and Terraform.
