About The Position

The Java Developer/Automation Tester role at IBM involves a unique hybrid position that combines Java development and automation testing expertise, specifically for mission-critical financial systems in the government sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing software, ensuring high-quality outputs through automated testing frameworks. Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in Java development and automation testing, focusing on Back End development.
  • Strong proficiency in Java 8 or later, including syntax, data structures, and object-oriented programming.
  • Experience with automation testing frameworks such as Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber, Protractor, Jasmine, and JMeter.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with writing Shell and Python scripts.
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies such as AWS or Azure.
  • Knowledge of containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with Ansible.
  • Certification in Java development or automation testing (e.g., Oracle Certified Java Programmer, ISTQB).
  • Experience with Angular development.
  • Proficiency in Python programming language.
  • Knowledge of Cucumber testing framework.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop Java applications for mission-critical financial systems.
  • Create and maintain automated tests to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Support the development of testing suites and frameworks for automation testing.
  • Investigate and implement creative solutions to improve software quality.
