Java Developer - Bilingual (English / Korean)

About the position

WOONGJIN, Inc. is seeking a skilled software developer to join our rapidly growing team. The successful candidate will evaluate business and system requirements, ensuring technical feasibility, estimating development effort, and determining implementation sequences. This position involves designing, developing, and validating software products, as well as supporting vendor development efforts and required coordination. The developer will be responsible for creating Java software modules using various technologies, providing technical direction to the engineering team, and establishing development environments and guidelines. Additionally, the role includes researching new technologies and recommending improvements, preparing detailed specifications for programming, and collaborating with multiple stakeholders to analyze requirements and support testing efforts.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate business and system requirements and ensure technical feasibility.
• Estimate development effort and implementation sequence.
• Design, develop, and validate product/software.
• Support vendor development efforts and required coordination.
• Develop Java software modules using Java and database-related technologies.
• Provide technical direction and guidance to the engineering team/vendor.
• Create clean, unit-tested, and refactored code.
• Establish development environment and development guidelines (coding, code reviews, build, etc.).
• Research new technology available and recommend technical and architectural improvements.
• Prepare detailed specifications for programming tasks.
• Work with multiple stakeholders to analyze requirements and clarify design dependencies.
• Create test plans and support functional and non-functional activities.
• Support testing efforts by troubleshooting and providing solutions to issues.

Requirements

• At least 3+ years of experience in development with Java.
• Bilingual in English and Korean.
• Proficient in Java, JSP, JavaScript, jQuery, React, Spring Framework, MyBatis, Python, Node.js.
• Experience with Oracle database.
• Familiarity with Apache, Tomcat, AWS (EC2, S3, RDS).

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with .NET Framework.
• Knowledge of iOS and Android app development.
• Experience with MS-SQL database.
• Familiarity with IIS.

Benefits

• Salary range: $80K - $110K (DOE)
