About the position

The Fixed Income Cash Development Team Lead is a permanent position at a major bank in New York City, focusing on leading a team of Java developers in the development of enterprise-level applications. The role requires a hands-on approach with over 10 years of experience in software development, particularly in Java, and involves collaboration with multiple business lines to drive software development activities and maintain high code quality.

Responsibilities

• Work with multiple business lines
• Provide work estimates as needed
• Develop system architectures, designs and concepts
• Communicate and drive common vision, practices and capabilities on development team
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and how they can be applied
• Drive software development activities to meet schedules and timelines
• Maintain and improve code quality using static & dynamic code analyses, security vulnerability scans, code coverage and CI/CD pipeline gating
• Provide technical guidance and be a technical mentor to the development team
• Design, build and configure applications to meet business process and application requirements

Requirements

• Over 10 years of enterprise development experience
• Experienced Java Developer (JDK 11 and 17)
• Knowledge of Apache Camel (Version 3 or 4)
• Experience with REST API (including Enterprise Authentication and Authentication)
• Familiarity with enterprise services (including observability, configuration management and cloud deployment)
• Proficient in Spring (including Spring Boot and Spring Boot Actuator)
• Experience in Message Driven Application development (Kafka, Active MQ or similar)
• Experience with MS SQL Server and/or Sybase
• Understanding of Capital Markets and how Derivatives instruments are valued
