About the position

The Backend Developer position at Insight Global involves joining a new team focused on modernizing the company's largest pharmacy applications. This role requires developing high-performance code using core Java/J2EE, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, and Google Cloud Platform, while ensuring quality practices and optimizing applications for non-functional requirements. The developer will be responsible for end-to-end application delivery and will collaborate with various teams to support production deployment and troubleshoot issues.

Responsibilities

• Develop elegant and high performant code in core Java/J2EE, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Ensure quality practices such as unit testing and code reviews.
• Optimize applications for non-functional requirements.
• Build and deploy components as part of the CI/CD process.
• Coordinate with required teams for production deployment and end-to-end application delivery.
• Monitor application health and KPIs, and support triage of production issues as needed.
• Collaborate in troubleshooting complex data, features, service, and platform issues, performing root cause analysis.
• Advocate for security best practices within engineering.

Requirements

• 3-10 years of software development experience.
• Experience developing microservices and cloud-native apps using Java/J2EE, REST APIs, Spring MVC, and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as Junit, Mockito, and JBehave.
• Experience building and deploying services using Gradle, Maven, and Jenkins as part of the CI/CD process.
